Dolgubon's Lazy Guild Blacklist  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 3.3
by: Dolgubon [More]
No longer needed with ESO's blacklist. (Also, I think it's not working anymore)

Keep all those unsavoury types out of your guild!

Dolgubon's Lazy Guild Blacklist allows you to add names onto a blacklist for each guild.*

If a user on the list joins the guild, a notification will appear. The addon will also scan your guilds upon entering the guild, and create a notification.

To open the window, use /blacklist, /dlb, or /dlgb. Once the window is open, you can type a name or a list of users into the box, and either remove or add them to the blacklist.
You can add users to the blacklist for one guild, or for all guilds. You can also print the blacklists, or scan a guild again.

The addon will only accept @UserIDs. If you only know the character name of someone, add them to your ignore list to find out the @UserID.

*The blacklist compiled by this addon is specific to your account, and is not shared.

Created at the request of @Hiyde

Planned Updates:

An option to automatically remove users on the blacklist.

Known Issues:

None so far. If you find any, contact me here, or @Dolgubon on NA.
Version 3.3:

Updated LibNotifications

Version 3.2:

The addon will now scan after adding someone to the blacklist.
Added a note saying that all guilds have been scanned after they've all been scanned.

Version 3.1:

Removed 3 extra files that shouldn't have been in the upload, including one named temporaryDontForgetToDeleteBecauseOfCourseIWill

Version 3:

Added a scroll list with the blacklist. Selecting the guild with the dropdown in the main window will show the blacklist for the selected guild. Click on a name to put it in the edit box. Press the x button to remove a name from the blacklist.
Removed the Print List button, as it is now redundant.
Set the All Guilds to be selected at startup, rather than the first guild by alphabetical order.
You'll get the 'This is not a valid @UserID' more often now when doing random stuff. ;p
Changed how the All Guilds selection works. It will no longer add the name as an entry to each guilds blacklist, but is now a separate list. A player can be on one guild blacklist, and also be on the All Guilds blacklist, and vice versa.
Changed how adding, removing, and scanning works to make it more easily readable and hopefully work a little better.
Various other cleanups of the code.

Version 2.2:

Removed a line that wiped saved variables when the addon was loaded.

Version 2.1:

Fixed a bug where if the user entered a name without an @ at the start, the game would crash. There's still a few bugs involving names without an @, but they're not gamebreaking. (Note: Character names are not accepted. They're relatively useless, because if the user is not on that character, there is no way to know they are on the blacklist. Add to the ignore list to find out their username)
Moved the entry box so that it fits in the window.

Version 2:

Had not added a notification for when a member joins the guild. This has been fixed, and if a blacklisted member joins you will now receive a notification.
You can now add or remove a list of users.

Version 1.1:

Will now create a notification when finding a blacklisted member, instead of putting a message in chat.
An All Guilds option has been added.

This unfortunately falls outside of the scope of this addon. Also, it's discontinued because ZOS added a guild blacklist anyway. I suggest checking with Awesome Guild Store or Master Merchant if they can do this (or even already have it)

Not sure, but I'll update LibNotification and see if that fixes it.
Thank you seems to have done the trick!

A bit late but I stumbled on this page so might as well anwser: it won't be possible to prevent invites going to those people unless every person with invite rights were to use this addon.

Scan not working

Anytime I try to scan this error pops up user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist.lua:193: function expected instead of nil
stack traceback:

Also I still get user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/Libs/LibNotification/LibNotification.lua:51: table index is nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/Libs/LibNotification/LibNotification.lua:51: in function '(main chunk)' error when I first login to a character fallowed by user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist.lua:193: function expected instead of nil

LUA error since Morrowind

EDIT: Fixed, thank you!

Hi!

Since Morrowind, this addon pops out the following LUA error on launch:

user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/Libs/LibNotification/LibNotification.lua:51: table index is nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/DolgubonsGuildBlacklist/Libs/LibNotification/LibNotification.lua:51: in function '(main chunk)'

Could you please take a look at it? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for answering my blond questions! I'm not getting any notifications, but that's likely caused by another addon. Even just having the list like you do, is incredibly helpful. Thank you

Also, just to clarify, it only notifies when a blacklisted name (or you) enter a guild? Or is the scan button supposed to notify you of blacklisted names that are currently in a guild? I have a couple of names blacklisted in X guild that don't get any result when I scan X guild.

I'm sorry for the questions, I may just be having one of those weeks! It's got me stumped though.
I'll admit that I haven't looked at this in a while, so I'm a bit rusty on the actual specifics but:

There is no longer a print list button - with the addition of the scroll list, I deemed it redundant, and removed it. (The print list was so that you could see who was on the list, which the scroll list now does)

The addon will create a notification when either:
1. You login and there's a blacklisted member in the guild,
2. A blacklisted member joins while you are logged on,
3. You press the Scan button.

I'll admit that I forgot to have the addon scan after you add a name to the list, and I'll fix that in a bit, however it should have created a notification after you logout and login, or /reloadui, and if it didn't please get back to me. You also need to spell the name exactly, and only @UserIDs are allowed, however capitals don't matter.

As of today now I'm using in on NA. Couple of maroons made asses of themselves in guild chat today while I was playing EU and I had fun emails to read when I got to NA this evening.

Soo I realized that I added in a line for debug purposes that wiped the saved variables, but forgot to remove it. I uploaded another version that should fix your problems.
