Description

What is this AddOn about?
I like achievements and I like to know what to do to complete them and what type of achievements exist without browsing through the entire achievement catalog: This AddOn displays lightweight chat notifications if you make progress in an achievement (please see the screenshots).

Features:
  • Shows chat notifications if you do something that is needed for an achievement
  • Triggers on each action or just in x% steps of the achievements requirements (configurable)
  • Can show some details in the chat notification like (kill 250/1000 Humanoids)
  • You can toggle the notifications for each category
  • Lightweight: It is not always present and shows up only when necessary
  • You can enable account-wide settings

---

Deutsche Beschreibung

---

Depends on LibAddonMenu-2.0. Please install it manually.

If you like the addon, you may want to buy me a drink.

Thanks to Llwydd for the french translation of the AddOn.

Whoa, holy spam batman! I went into a dungeon and started fighting and it just spammed my group window for every hit I did in a group dungeon. Like dozens of pages for all the damage I was doing. Perhaps an option to turn off chat notification or single summation messages every minute?

Thanks for your feedback!
There are already three options for this in the add-on settings menu:
  1. You can temporary disable the add-on notifications with the first setting ("add-on enabled")
  2. You can disable the setting "show every update" to get notifications every 25% only (I am going to optimize this feature soon, it has a bug)
  3. You can (temporary) disable the achievement category for the spamming achievements

Did you test the new version 0.92? 0.9 had the bug to show more achievements than needed

EDIT:
I've uploaded the new version 0.93 with a fixed behavior for showing notifications on every 25%

I'll go tweak the settings. I installed the add-on (I believe .92) and then jumped into a group dungeon, quickly looked for settings and didn't see it in the mix of the 45 add-ons I have installed and everyone insisting on listing their add-on by their name and not the add-on name and I had to disable it temporarily because of the hurried attitude in these dungeons.

I'll update, re-enable it and play with the settings. Thanks for the response and clarification.

Any thoughts on having a smaller optimized window show up on first start of an achievement somewhere inconspicuous? This would pretty slick to show when a new achievement was started but definitely not a large centered box right during battle when the first mob is killed and there are more to go in the group.

Yeah with a bunch of addons the settings menu gets messy... some authors hide, as already mentioned, their addons behind their usernames. It seems that the addons are in the order they get loaded by eso... I am testing that... AchievementInfo has the same color as the chat outputs (to find it faster in the list) and is named AchievementInfo

Thanks for the feedback. I already thought about that. With 0.93 i've added a feature that - even with the disabled option "Show every update", that displays the achievement infos only in 25% steps - shows a notification for an achievement when you discover it for the first time.

I am thinking of adding a movable panel where the notifications pop up instead of or additional to the chat notifications in a future version. You may want to read the changelog on every update - but i guess you wouldn't miss a new notification panel at your screen - if i enable it by default

Red face Too many notifications...but then too few...

"Triggers on each action or just in 25% steps of the achievements requirements (configurable)"

I find that having it notify every time is just WAY too much. But then 25% is just WAY too little. Would it be possible to have a % slider or more % options? For instance i would like every 10% or something.

Great addon by the way, thank you.

That should be possible - I thought of it before but didn't have the time to test it. I'll try to implement this option when i have some time. An alternative could be a slider for an absolute value like 5, 10, 15 to receive the notifications in steps of 5, 10, or 15.

I am glad you like my addon.

"and i like to know what to do to complete them and what type of achievements exist "

Hey there. So, any plans to add this functionality to the addon?

What I mean is, how about selecting an achievement, and getting a map marker or instructions?

Hey Wykdwolffie,

thanks for the idea!
At the moment i have not that much time to add new big features. This add-on is meant to be a lightweight alternative to AchievementTracker. Maybe that addon fits your needs? http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1...ntTracker.html

But you can browse the achievements in the ingame journal (J) already. Many achievements don't have a specific target, so it isn't possible (or better: useful) to place a map marker. You could enable the detail output of AchievementInfo and you'll see the details of the achievements you are working on at each notification. Combine that with for example a skyshard map marker addon.

Is there any chance for an updated version? I had to get rid of AchievementInfo with update 5 and use Wykkyd's Achievement Tracker instead, but it's really overweight without providing features AchievementInfo does.

There seems to be a small incompatibility between pChat and this add on. I don't know what but an 'h' appears before each line. If I disable pChat then this doesn't happen. For example:

[1:46 pm] hBlack Market Mogul (Justice).

I like this add on because it lets me know what actions I take affect achievements. Thank you!

Hmm, that's weird. I'll have a look into that behavior

Thank you!

Edit: Fixed the leading h bug. But there is still another incomp. with pChat (see the changelog entry for 2.2)
