Binder (Updated)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 100026
by: CaptainBlagbird [More]
About
This is a reupload of the original add-on Binder by Aiiane. I updated the API version to fix the "Out of Date" note.
Original description
Binder provides a way to save and load keybinding sets, including the ability to save the bindings from one character and load them on another.

After install, you can use the following commands in the chat window:

Code:
/binder save SETNAME
Saves current keybindings as the specified set name.

/binder load SETNAME
Loads the specified set of keybinds, overwriting any existing keybindings.

/binder list
Lists the name of each saved bind set.

/binder delete SETNAME
Deletes the specified set of keybinds.

/binder auto
  Manage automatic bind set syncing.
Automatic bind set syncing is disabled by default. If you enable it, it allows you to automatically save the active bind set whenever you change keybindings, and automatically have those changes to all other characters using the same bind set. (Characters without an active bind set will have one automatically created for them named "Charactername-auto" - you can change the active set for a character via /binder load or /binder save.)

I like this addon - thank you for making it.

That being said - ouch - I ran into a painful issue, today.
I tried setting the auto feature on, for the first time. This feature is VERY broken right now. If you attempt to login to a character once it is turned on, the game never loads the USER_INTERFACE (capitalized, because it's called that in the game log), and just stalls forever. The only resolution, at that point, is to remove the addon or modify the settings LUA to disable the auto feature.

I went through each addon one-by-one until narrowing it to this one, and then to the auto feature.

Thanks!

Hi,

is Binder compatible with LibAddonKeybind ?
Does it recognize the different lists or are there technically no two lists and
for Binder it doen't matter how it's displayed in the Menu ingame ?

Thanks a lot for short answer before I add the Lib.
I want to eliminate the risk of destroying my binder profiles.

Yeah, same issue here. I have managed to identify the part that's causing the error - it's the /binder auto function. If it's off, the issue does not occur.

So yeah, guess from now on we'll have to do things manually every time we log in.

Why not just tell people get Notepad++ go into Binder.txt and change the 100011 to 100012, all done works like a charm. No need for out of date addons to be checked.

Ah damn, I didn't pay attention when packing the zip.

Well it does work for me, Minion only deletes the the folder when uninstalling an add-on. I guess Minion was specifically made that way so people can create plug-ins for add-ons (for example new icon sets etc.).

Funny enough it doesn't delete the folder until I uninstall both add-ons. Now I wonder if Minion keeps a file list for each add-on. Maybe when one of two installed add-ons that use the same folder is uninstalled it'll only delete the files that aren't also listed for the other add-on...

Minion definately needs the folder of the addon inside the Zip archive!
If there is no foldername, the addon won't be recognized.

This would be more secure then rely on users reading your description or the addon name properly
Yeah, actually I just wanted to try if it would work with Minion , but I hasn't shown up there yet. I'll probably remove this add-on again later or upload it completely with all files.
