A bit of history

The mod name was changed because apparently the mod called Ravalox' Quest Tracker had a file named LibQuestInfo.lua included with it as an embedded library.

LibQuestData

While updating Quest Map and trying to use some of the same data with other mods that show quest information I realized it was too much work to update more then one mod. For that reason I created LibQuestData.

It contains all of the currently available (by user submission) data from Quest Map and some information from Destinations. The data is incomplete and I would appreciate user submissions.

Current Features:
- Provide mod authors with X,Y locations for placing a pin on the Map (LIBGPS Data not collected at this time use local_x , local_y only! Needs more time for data to be collected.)
- Built in data collection for quest information not currently in data base

At the bottom of the page is a list of Zones that have had their quest data verified.

Use the function UpdatePins anywhere you need deepening on player interaction with the world such as events for when the map changes, or the player changes location.

NOTE: Multiple ID numbers means there are multiple quests with the same name.

Use: Drawing a pin with a different color if the player has started the

Expand built in data collection to update information instead of only collecting new information. Meaning that if there are multiple pins for a quest, duplicate pins close to the player location would be removed in favor of the new location. The auto update would also compare information like quest name, quest giver, quest type, whether or not it is repeatable, and the Game API. Game's API version will mean the quest is still available in the current version.

3:
For avid data collectors and experts a slash command to remove ALL pins on the map prior to accepting a quest in order to clean up duplicate pins. Data would be submitted on GitHub.

There's another library that also provides quest data, LibUespQuestData. I don't know how the databases compare.

It does not provide any kind of coordinates for quest givers, just the various info types of quests.

This should be fixed. However, if you continue to get this error please don't delete the "LibQuestInfo.lua" file in your SavedVariables folder. Would you kindly upload it to my GitHub first? That way I can attempt to see why there is still an error after the update.

Thanks for letting me know there is another library out there. I am aware of this one but it won't work for Quest Map or Destinations. At least for quest locations so mod authors can put a pin on the map to guide the player where to go.

That is the reason for creating this. I know you just want to help improve things so that's nice of you to mention this. This library isn't just another duplicate of anything else because nothing else has all the information I am collecting.

So you have several mods. Zygor Guides ESO Leveling Guide, Quest Map, Destinations, and Journal Quest Log. Each one does something different but all of them are supposed to help users do quests. Since none of them do things the same way none of them can be used for anything else.

This is very much a work in progress but I designed it to resolve the issues with Quest Map. Once it is updated more it would be usable with Destinations. Once implemented then people that like Quest Map can use it, and those that like Destinations can use that. You won't need to use both at the same time because the information will be the same for either one.

The author of Map Pins said he would not add quest data because he would need to come up with a way to collect his own data and he would have to do this for all the zones. Only he would be starting from scratch with no information. Which would require him to ask people for help since he can't collect all the quests in the game. One person can't do that. Well they could but it would take a long time. With LibQuestInfo he could use this mod to add pins if he chose.

As it is, even though I still have much work to do this could be used with any mod current or not yet existing because it returns information authors need to tell a user where the quest NPC is located or where you can start the quest if it isn't an NPC.

Baertram even made a suggestion for chat programs that could use this to replace text when someone says they are doing quest [whatever] in French, but the author could make his chat mod say the name in English or other names so people can help. It won't translate all the text, but the author would have access to a vast amount of quest names to make that translation.

The only mod this won't work for is Zygor Guides because that is entirely different. However, you never know I might have a way to update things for the quest locations in that mod just not how it does each step that guides the player as to where they need to go.

Thanks again for mentioning that but for the most part everything out there isn't usable with this Library. This library can be used with any mod now, and will function better as time goes on and more volunteers submit information.

The last batch of information provided me with maybe not all but the vast majority of quest locations for Hew's Bane, Gold Coast, Summerset, Vvardenfel, Northern and Southern Elsweyr, Murkmire, and Clockwork City. However, now I will need volunteers to just play as they normally would without making it seem like work.

What that will do for me is slowly start to verify quest information is accurate. Some mods pins are in the wrong place. Some mods don't have the name and it says "Unknown Name".

The UESP mod you mentioned says there are about 2000+ quests and as you can imagine that's many quests to verify. I have had 0 verified except a few I have done myself. So over time that's why I hope users will come to my aid and start uploading information.

It would probably be best to wait a week or so though. However, in a week people could start uploading the .lua files to my GitHub. I have a link on the description page but I will update that and show an image of what I am looking for.
