Mer Character Sheet  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 5.3
by: merlight, Baertram
Needed dependencies:
LibGetText

Three completely unrelated mods to Character sheet that I wanted for ages.

1) Sections may be reordered by dragging their headers. Your preferred order is saved globally, cross-character and cross-account.

2) Added Research timers section, now with tracking all your characters' research.
I'm aware there's a zillion other add-ons providing the same thing. Honestly I haven't tried any of them - I only checked screenshots and found that all of them display this information in an otherworldly widget I don't like, either an always-on info-bar or an on-demand pop-up window. I wanted it wedged somewhere into the core UI.

3) Added Riding Skill timers for up to 10 alts that trained within the past week.
version 5.3 - 2022-06-18
- Updated the API
- Fixed tooltips tier/layer/level

version 5.2
- Updated the API
- Fixed the Champion Points earned/spent to the new CP 2.0 api functions

version 5.1.2
- minor update
- switched to using SKILLS_DATA_MANAGER instead of deprecated APIs

version 5.1.0
- updated APIVersion: Elsweyr, Scalebreaker
- changed SavedVariables scheme: character data now use ID instead of name as key
- research timers now update after using instant research scroll or cancelling research
- added class icons to character names in research section
- added riding skill training timers for Alts
- included LibGetText to enable translations

version 1.7c
- updated APIVersion: 100023 "Summerset"
- added/fixed jewelry crafting research timers

===========> Maintained by: Baertram

version 1.7b
- updated APIVersion: 100013
- added Champion Rank to character background section

version 1.7a
- fixed timer bar calculations (hopefully, my math skills are not what they used to be)

version 1.7
- changed research timer bars to logarithmic scale
- timer bar width is now based on total research duration

version 1.6
- updated APIVersion: 100012
- fixed UI error upon the first login after a skill point reset

version 1.5
- added tracking other characters' research
- changed saved variables structure

version 1.4
- updated APIVersion: 100011
- fixed glitch with overlapping sections in Update 6
- added workaround for nil oldInfamy bug

version 1.3
- updated APIVersion: 100010
- research timers now properly update after you learn/forget passives that affect them
- added tooltips to toggle buttons

version 1.2
- updated APIVersion: 100009
- added buttons to show/hide research per crafting skill

version 1.1
- removed hard-coded swap of Active effects and Active mount
- made all sections movable

yes indeed loks like a part of the game UI ..and a obvious spot for it ...I'll give it a go and it may just replace my craft timer addon I've been using forever

Great job.

This Addon really nice because it integrates perfect into the default UI.

I always used the Addon MitigationValue and SoftCapInfo but with your Addon the information of these Addons aren't shown. Could you add an similar funktion or make it compatible with these Addons?

Weird, I didn't notice any issues with SoftcapInfo (although I'm using slightly modified version, it's only changed colors, nothing critical).

I will check MitigationValue today, that one is new to me.

This is funny because I don't I so much wanted then to fill up with time; for me it'd be more intuitive if the blue bar showed progress rather than remaining time - which is already shown in numbers. But the current behaviour is tied deeply into the widget (which is copied from the research tab), so I just used it as is; perhaps some day I'll devise a way to reverse it

1 - Love what you're doing.
2 - Go scrape the research time logic out of my Toolbar addon. Create your own bars using 2 backpanels. 1 with a set width, 1 that takes up % of the other's width based on time/progress. /advice

Keep it up.

I'm so sorry. It was my fault. For any reason i disabled softcap and mitigation before. i'am an idiot.

The values of softcap and mitigation are shown as before.

And again .... nice job

Good I'm now experimenting with freely movable sections, hope that doesn't actually break things

Thanks. I'm still split between making it look nice, and keeping it consistent (i.e. identical to how it looks on research tab). You have some nice time formatting options for example, and I don't like the default 1d 2h 03m 04s, but then again if people are used to that format from the other place, perhaps it's better (and also less typing ) to just use that widget.

add an option?

I like this - thank you for creating it.

one suggestion, I did it on my own pc already, can you add an option to remove the skills you aren't researching?

for me I just removed it in the lua but others might like the option and not know lua.

addResearchGroup(CRAFTING_TYPE_BLACKSMITHING)
-- addResearchGroup(CRAFTING_TYPE_CLOTHIER)
-- addResearchGroup(CRAFTING_TYPE_WOODWORKING)

Thats not criticism, just a suggestion.

I did the same to HarvensExtendedStats, I have no use to use all the 0 resistance I have at the moment.
I will suggest the same to him as that addon has no options.

Thanks for your work

Yes that's reasonable. Do you think that setting should also be global, or different for each character?

I can only speak for myself and I only have 1 toon

but I think most people would like it per char - as some of my friends have multiple toons with different crafting.

thanks,

I also had an issue with all the extra windows (for nothing). Good thinking this one, well done

(entirely out of curiosity, but as i see it's been updated and recently come to that..how come ZAM does not have it pinned with the 'updated' sign? The only reason i skipped this the first time was precisely because of that..thought it was outdated/abandoned)

It seems the tag doesn't mean updated to the latest live API, but rather updated in the last 1/3/7 days.
