DESCRIPTION
This addon includes many camera features to enhance the game experience.
Gain total control and enjoy all the world using the camera settings you want depending on what you do.
  • Control!
    ⋅ Add some useful bindings to control the camera: shoulder swap, center, …
  • Don't change!
    ⋅ Prevent the camera change that occurs on interactions: chatting, craft stations, style station, lockpicking, …
  • Dynamic!
    *NEW* Camera can be configured to dynamically change when you're moving,
    ⋅ Replace the camera change for each interaction type with a custom one,

BINDINGS
  • Swap camera shoulder side,

  • Camera preferred parameters: distance, field of view, and horizontal/vertical position. It overrides the regular camera settings.

  • 3 static cameras can be configured. Only works with keybindings.

  • Prevent any camera change on interactions : talking to NPCs, using craft stations, lockpicking, reading, siege.
    That really is better for immersion not to change the camera on each interaction! You can't imagine.
    For example, when you talk with someone, the camera won't focus on them.
    (I recommand to allow the camera change for “Stations”, anyway, that's strange to craft without moving.)
  • Use your own camera settings when in interactions.

  • Automatically change any of your camera settings when "events" occur: chatting, mounting, in stealth, wielding weapons, in combat, in werewolf form.
  • *NEW* “On movement” event has been added, camera feels more dynamic that ever!
  • Preset can be picked between: None / Center camera on 3rd person / Switch to 1st person / Switch to 3rd person / Custom (Do what you want).
  • There are also some specific parameters for the events: use combat to trigger draw weapon, delay to restore for combat, keep minimal distance while in werewolf…

I found a little workaround.

NOTE: this is in MY case. Im not garantee another settings.

I use:
- 'restore preferred camera' ON
- ON MOUNTED in event driven cameras to 'center in the 3rd person'

In this case, make this line in NTakCamera.lua (line 601) to be a COMMENT (put -- in begining)
-> if IsMounted() and GetCameraDistance() > 0 then return end -- Ignore status for 1st person

save, then /reloadUI

I hope this make sense for you guys while waiting for NTAK to make an update.

Hmm after I mount the camera doesn't change anymore, tried installing manually and deleting all files, turned all addons off except this one. Camera works fine until I mount then nothing except the move up and down, not sure what I am doing wrong here.


So I solved it for now by disabling the mount behavior and it seems to work as attended.

AwesomeGuildStore incompatibility

This addon causes a strange issue to an AwesomeGuildStore function, more specific, when I try to list an item for sell straight from my bank via AwesomeGuildStore (without getting that item out of the bank into my inventory).

What happens is that the item I want to list won't be put up for sell, it will get dragged into my inventory instead, and the guildstore menu will automatically close. This happens to any item I try to list from my bank, so basically, listing from my bank no longer works. Just from the inventory.

I spent some time looking for the culprit causing this and with only AwesomeGuildStore and N'Tak' Camera enabled the issue persists.
And if I have all of my addons enabled except N'Tak' Camera, the issue is gone.

Also, more specific, the setting that's causing this is "Chatting - Prevent default camera change [ON]"
If I have this turned off, problem is gone.

Sorry I should be specific that its the furnishing preview and not the gear preview.

My guess here is that when the preview furnishing item feature is used, it swap the FOV to 100, and for some reason closing the preview via escape leaves the FOV zoomed in, but pressing the correct hotkey zooms it back out as expected.

BTW this is a vanilla bug, I can reproduce this even with zero addons installed, but normally the FOV would fix itself as soon as you used any menu that spins your character around (which also would normally cause a FOV zoom in and then a zoom back out when closing).

I have some addons that prevent the camera from doing that when I open my inventory, so thus that FOV can become stuck at 100. I was hoping that since this addon can set the FOV that it could make to reset the FOV to whatever I have it set to upon leaving the furnishing preview menu even if via the escape key.

BTW this can cause your addon to do funny things, it assumes that the FOV of 100 is the FOV I have set in your addon (130), and so if I do an event driven change such as moving to swap to FOV 70, it will think that the 100 FOV is the 130, and it REALLY zooms it in, (since it adjusts -50 FOV off the 100 and not the 130, so I get zoom levels that are much closer than I can even get via the sliders!)

Of course, as this is a vanilla bug, this would be more of a feature request
