Votan's Achievements Overview  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.6.4
by: votan [More]
DependenciesDescription
Yet another achievement tracker? Hopefully not.
There are real cool addons tracking favored and well-known achievements already.
The goal of this addon is a bit different.

The idea of this addon is:
If you go to the build-in achievements window, you are interested in achievements related to things you did recently.
For example:
  • After collecting stuff the whole afternoon, you what to know how much more to collect to get the collector achievement
  • After smacking some daedra at a dolmen, you what to know how much more to get the next dark anchor achievement
  • After finding a rare throphy you ask yourself "Did that count for something?"
Normally you go to the build-in achievements window and give up after one minute of expanding and scrolling up and down.

This addon replaces the achievement overview with a list of recent updated achievements.
It shows you the name of the achievement, update date and the origin category.
If you hover one, you get detailed information about the progress.
That's all you wanted in that moment.

And if double-clicking it, the right category is opened for you. There you get more information may introduced by other addons.

After first time loading for a character, the list is filled with started achievements, not necessarily recent. But if you go and play, the list gets accurate quickly.

Beschreibung

There is an issue when double clicking on the "Illicit Entrepreneur" achievement. It doesn't matter where it appears in the list. Not sure if it applies to more.

Confirmed. Thanks for the video.
This seems to be an in-game error.
The function used in the in-game script does return an incorrect value for idOffset for this achievement. Therefore the in-game script crashes. The achievementId, as the only given parameter, is valid.
I can work around this, by scanning for the achievementId on my own.

edit: Fixed in 1.1:
I open the tree on my own. Scanning for the id, if it does not work as it should. For example, for the mentioned achievement.

must-have addon

very nice addon. thanks a lot.

my suggesion:
add also a mouse-over popup view for achievments, deeper than the overview.
this will avoid, that users have to click on each achievment to read progress

ZeniMax should pay you for your Addon xD

Good Job. Thanks.

Something's not right with the time display. It's a few minutes past midnight, 7th May (my local time is GMT+2), and the addon shows last achievements with times 11:53 PM 5/7/2015, 11:38 PM 5/7/2015, etc. which are in the future

To be honest, I don't understand this 12hour pm/am stuff. 11:53 seems to be a few minutes before 12:00 or 00:00. I use ZO_FormatTime to format a timestamp.
Could you please check if localTimeShift in line 282 is correct for GMT+2 and what time is shown, if you force 24hour format in line 283?

My localTimeShift if 7200 (originally -79200 with 86400 added). I think the shift is unnecessary, because GetTimeStamp() already returns local time. For example now it's 1:27 after midnight, and
GetDateStringFromTimestamp(GetTimeStamp() - 3600) returns "5/8/2015" (1 hour ago)
GetDateStringFromTimestamp(GetTimeStamp() - 7200) returns "5/7/2015" (2 hours ago)

edit: of course I got it wrong. GetTimeStamp() returns a timezone-agnostic timestamp. GetDateStringFromTimestamp takes that and TZ info from system and computes the date. So the problem is you're shifting the timestamp to format local time (which is correct), but also use the "localized" timestamp to compute date. I guess the timestamp in SavedVars should be the unmodified value from GetTimeStamp, and localTimeShift only added in ZO_FormatTime.

Thanks! I never realized that GetDateStringFromTimestamp uses time-zone information. I always just saw formatted time is wrong without adjustment and assumed it is the same for date. I guess I'm to tired around midnight for that.
I will correct that.

Version 1.2:
There is a function called FormatAchievementLinkTimestamp, which would be perfect. Except that you can not specify the returned time format. Which is not as wanted, of course...
After spending hours to overcome this, I gave up and do the second best solution now: Shifting back the timestamp before formatting date string.

Please let me know, if there is still something wrong.
