Favorite Mount
Version: 1.3.2
by: ShadowMau [More]
FavoriteMount

Requires: LibAddonMenu-2

Select and save favorite mounts by character and randomly change between the favorites.

Creates a list of your unlocked mounts and allows you to select favorite ones for each character. If you have two or more mounts saved to favorites, it will randomly switch every time you mount. In the settings menu, the tooltip will now provide a mount preview.

Check out my other addons listed in the top box.
1.3.2 (07-11-2021)
  • API bump to 100035 Blackwood
  • Added in delay calculations to help reduce "not ready" errors

1.3.1 (03-27-2021)
  • Added in a check for if the user is currently mounted in case of rapid dismount / mount before the mount switch occurs.

1.3.0 (03-12-2021)
  • Improved settings menu
  • Modified the delay before making the change
  • Increased the delay before retry if there was a cooldown error (lessens annoying cooldown error messages if you immediately jump into combat before switch takes place)
  • API changed to 100034 "Flames of Ambition"

1.2.3 (02-18-2021)
  • Changed to using EVENT to detect if collectible is on cooldown

1.2.2 (02-11-2021)
  • Changed the way new mounts are detected
  • Added in checking for collectible cooldowns which should eliminate collectible not ready error

1.2.1 (02-02-2021)
  • Fixed an error that could appear in certain circumstances

1.2.0 (02-01-2021)
  • Added a mount preview to the tooltip in settings.

1.1.0 (01-30-2021)
  • Removed the special characters at the end of some mount names. Thank you to Baertram for the fix.
  • Forces a repopulation of the unlocked mounts.

1.0.0 (01-30-2021)
  • Initial release

Thank you for the question. I immediately thought of the same thing, but have not had a chance to look at that. A lot will depend on if ZOS will allow API access to it. I will be looking into it soon.

UPDATE: From the documentation, it appears that it should be possible, but when I attempt to do it, I get an error "You can't equip a collectible on your companion outside of the companion menu." A bug report has been submitted.
Thanks for checking on it. Hopefully they will fix it.

Just heard back from ZOS. Users can not make any changes to companions outside of the companion menu. Even though the documentation indicates it is possible, it is disabled by design. https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthr...4405#post44405

Thank you. That's a really good idea. I plan to do a random favorite pet next, but after that, I might be able to do something like this.

I don't do any role play, so would it be something like you only link one mount to one pet on a character and that is it? That is the easiest method. I think I can figure out a way to have multiple links between mount and pet so that mount X summons pet Y and you can have that matchup one pet per mount. I have some ideas, but it may take me a bit to develop them.

EDIT: I have since released Link Pet to Mount.

Lua Code:

Thank you. I had tried some other methods and they did not work. Did not know that this option existed.

The "^F" at the end of some mount names is from the in-game mount name and I could not remove it from the name for some reason. I have submitted a bug report.
