Tired of not seeing certain effects in raids? Having trouble looking at the boss to see if he's about to do a mechanic? Or are you just lazy and want something to do most of the work for you? Then this is the addon you seek! Never be caught offguard so you can put your focus on things that are more important.

Description
Originally created by Silentgecko this addon started out with a few alerts but has since grown to huge proportion. Ranging for alerts that let you know there's a certain effect on you to alerts that warn you about an incoming hit. It's almost as if you can see into the future! Now of course there are still things you will need to look out for yourself but hopefully Raid Notifier will ease some of the burden.

If you are interested on the timing of certain bosses and their abilities I highly recommened Halls of Fabrication Veteran Status Panel and Asylum Sanctorium Status Panel by code65536.


Ultimate Exchange
Requires LibGroupSocket to be installed separately!
This feature is still considered beta and if you are experiencing problems with it you can disable it to prevent issues or conflicts with other addons with a similar feature.

Through the use of sirinsidiator's awesome LibGroupSocket (see the page for more details) it is now possible to share your ultimate with the rest of your raid. When this feature is enabled in the settings menu it will turn on sending your ultimate values during trials only.

For now it displays people's ultimate as a percentage based on their warhorn cost but I plan to add support for other (relevant) ultimates. It does however, work with any ultimate cost reduction passive and/or sets and it doesn't matter if the person actually has warhorn slotted or not!

As a user/receiver you can configure to only show it for certain roles, like tanks and healers and have the option to colorize the text once it reaches certain thresholds (80% and 100%). The window can be dragged around and can be hidden for the user while still allowing that person to share his ultimate. More customization will come in the future.

Warning: Due to how it is currently written it will cause issues with other addons that use map pings to communicate (even the ones that also use LibGroupSocket) and will make it likely that you are kicked from the game due to hitting the message spam limit. From personal experience, when only using Raid Notifier's sharing feature I have never been kicked due to spamming.


Basics

Besides the ever-growing amount of warnings and alerts the addon also provides some other benefits during the raids. Things like disabling assistants at the start of combat or disabling vanity pets for the duration of the trial. It also features a simple but effective food buff tracker


Alerts
Each alert can have its own sound and many of them can be configured to display it for everybody and not just for you. You can see a full description for each alert in the settings menu. Of course each and every alert can be disabled.

No longer working with gamepad ui

Raid Notifier is no longer working with gamepad ui. *SOMETIMES* after reloading ui I can get notifications to show up, but then they stop working randomly. From other comments, it seems this will not be fixed.

Rather disappointing since How To Cloudrest, the ONLY cloudrest addon to support gamepad ui is not on esoui, and Code's does not have as many notifictions as RN or other specific addons.

People on PC also use gamepad for accessibility, not to mention all the console transfers. It would be greatly appreciated if this could be fixed, as not using addons because of controller usage isn't acceptable in end game raiding.

I'm also trying to get rid of the libStub.
It seems that the included (and outdated?) CustomTitles need it:

Function calls are in
  • RaidNotifier\libs\LibCSA\LibCSA.lua
  • RaidNotifier\libs\LibCustomTitles\LibCustomTitles.lua
  • RaidNotifier\libs\LibCustomTitles\LibTitleLocale.lua
Most of the Libraries are not really necessary I guess. LazyWritCrafter also includes LibCustomTitles and works fine without them.

Yeah, I think I understand the cause. RaidNotifier never tried to actually hide the message area when notifications are not present, if I remember it right way. Will keep that in mind, surely need to be fixed in time.

When it overlays something in the center of the screen, it blocks the mouse interaction with what is behind it, even if nothing is being displayed.When I do /zgoo mouse in the blocked area, the control that comes up is RaidNotifierUICenterAnnounce. Toggling visibility on it will allow interaction again.

"Unlock" option places status icon to move around.
It's old option for positioning status icon only, and wasn't changed recently.

For position your text notifications when they are "custom" type you should choose "Notifications showcase" and drag them around (in cursor mode, which you can achieve by start typing in chat or press "dot" button (by default)).
In fact, they are never locked, and you can position them in cursor mode any time, but ofc it's much harder to position them during the battle in the trial than in "notifications showcase" mode

It doesn't need LibStub much, but also there weren't much real arguments to speed up the process of removing this lib so far.
I prepared PR for that, but some question appeared which had no trivial answer. For instance, LibCustomTitles with LibStub is used in some other addons too (i.e. Inventory Insight)
But I think it's great to hear some strong case why LibStub should be removed asap if there is one.

No idea so far. New changes should not affect your ability to receive notifications. And if they would do that we would receive some more complains about that IMO since quite some people uses it.
You can try to enable debug mode and ensure that there are system messages in chat like "Register for [trial name]" when you enter the trial. If you always have this message, but don't have notifications in some cases, it would be double weird If this message will work like indicator of success then we would have problem narrowed.
Ofc there are also general recommendations like "try to ensure you have only one copy of RaidNotifier installed" and in worst case "try to run popular PvE-related addons only to ensure you have no other addon which is blocking RaidNotifier's job" (so it's about some unpopular addons, 'cause popular ones won't block it for sure, tested by many players )
No bright ideas except that.

For some reason sometimes the notification text don't show up until I reloadui, one way I found to know if it is showing is to click ''notification showcase'' and if the text appears it is working, but I have to do that all the time when I'm inside a trial to make sure it is working... And if not I can fix by reloading UI. Any idea how to stop that from happening?

Hi,

LibStub is used in RaidNotifier's code right now. Ideally it should not be used anymore.
If I'll able to successfully propose some other fixes I may find time to eliminate usage of this library and propose this changes as well to addon maintainers.

I'd propose you to make sure it's only RaidNotifier notifications.
Try to type:
Code:
/rndebug notifications
in your chat.
If they will not overlap in this showcase, then it's probably just notifications from several addons at the same time in your case, like RaidNotifier and Code's Combat Alerts.
I know many people who can't tell apart which addon does notificate them of certain mechanic.

If my guess is correct then for now it can be fixed only by turning some notifications off in RaidNotifier since Combat Alerts have no settings at all. Just pay attention which notifications are overlapping, and turn them off.
