Backstory

Hydra9268: On March 23, 2018, Zygor Guides announced that they would end support for their ESO guide. Later, via answers given on the forums, they confirmed they would not add a leveling guide for Summerset. Their guide is Public Domain with Zygor's blessing for the community to create guides. So I took it upon myself to create a Summerset guide for the ESO community.

Please note, we can provide some support for existing bugs. However, please remember that we did not author the tool nor Zygor's original guides, so our experience is limited. Nevertheless, should you find a bug, let us know in the comments, and we'll try to patch it up. While we welcome any help with the guide, we need assistance most with optimizing the Lua script. Feel free to fork the project's Github and see where you can make improvements. Thank you.

in the release for blackwood the level restriction have been lifted except in the intro guide for blackwood

I have never been very good at 'sandbox' games, mainly I am a quester and I play games for their storyline. Something ESO definately excells in. But it can become quite overwhelming with the size of the game to find where to go next.

I had found the Questing Guides addon, which basically just shows all the main zone quests a lovely and very well made addon but hardly very complete as it leaves out all the side quests. And quite frankly, just following the Zone Guides without an addon does the same, so the Questing Guide just provides a structure as to which zone to go next and where to start. Useful for those who just want to play sandbox style, not so much for someone like me who needs a bit more direction and likes to follow the stories.

This Guide is perfect to me, It keeps the sidequests in mind tells ya where to go next and follows the story mostly in a chronological order.

So now I have finished: My Alliance Quests, Caldwell's Silver and Gold, The fighters Guild Quest and the Mages Guild Quest. But then the guide stopped telling me what's next so I had a few suggestions for improving the guide even further. But keep in mind I am not a programmer just a user so I do not know how obtainable these suggestions are they are merely from a user perspective as to what I think would be nice to see added.

- At the beginning of the guide, perhaps it is a good idea to give the user the option of telling the guide what their faction is or if possible this is recognized automatically based on your character and the guide could tell you to teleport at the nearest wayshrine to your main city to start the prologue with the hooded figure as to starting the chronological story of the game. (It's possible the guide already does this, if so just ignore the suggestion it's been a while since I started a new character)

- After you are done with a zone, so you have finished all the steps in a certain guide perhaps it would be possible to see this in the overview? A little check symbol in front for example so you can see which zone guides you have already followed? The overview is beautiful but you can't really tell untill you switch between the guides which zones you have already done. (This is especially useful for those who have longer breaks inbetween gaming sessions and don't really remember what they have already finished after returning to the game)

- After the main content is done is does not give any direction as to what DLC Zone/Chapter Expansion is next. I looked up a few posts on the internet and found several forum posts with infomation about the Chronological order of the content so perhaps it's useful for you to help integrate/improve in the guides?

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Story_Quests#Quest_Map
Especially the Google Docs which is explained on the reddit post and is still being maintained is a good source of information I believe.

-I was missing a Zone guide for Cyrodil, I know this is a Pvp map just like Imperial city which does have a guide, but I couldn't seem to find one for the larger map area of Cyrodil self.

Again these are just some suggestions, I admit I have not went back and read every single post in the forum here before making these, so apologies if they have been made and answered before already. I just wanted to add my two cents to a lovely community and to what I think is the best ESO Questing Guide available. So kudos to all your hard work so far and thank you from the bottom of my heart for maintaining and improving this wonderfull addon.
Cyrodiil zone guide is at the beginning of Imperial City needs some work but it will get the job done until i can get a chance to take a deep dive into it.

If you manually download and install the code for LibQuestData there is a rough draft for Blackwood. It does not cover the main story and obviously I don't know if I have all the side quests at this time.
im fixing to start writing the guide for blackwood if i remember reading correctly is auto uploads that data to a file i can shoot you that file when im done if you want.

Suggestion

Maybe a silly suggestion (or it could have been suggested before)

But I think it would be nice to have an option to ignore all side quests, and have a levelling guide such as this, but only including the questlines that lead to a skillpoint/mage's books/skyshards etc.

When you want to do all the quests this guide as is, is absolutely amazing, but when you're levelling your 10th-20th character you don't really want to do all side quests again, just the ones that give skillpoints and do the tour of mage books/skyshards etc.

but ill keep that in mind while writting the blackwood guide. ill remove the level 10 restriction my advise to you is to go to Vulkel Guard in Auridon if Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall in Glunumbra if Daggerfall Covenant, or Davon's Watch in Stonefalls if Ebonheart Pact and go the Mages Guild and talk to Lyris Titanborn to start the Prologue quest and follow it until you get to Riften in Eastmarch. As this was my 1st guide and i was still learning.

Riften is in eastmarch but after the intro it should take you to Vulkel Guard, Daggerfall, or Stonefalls Depending on your faction unless for some r eason your above level 10

Coming Soon!

Announcement

Starting with the Blackwood guide, we are changing the addon's name from "Zygor Guides ESO Leveling Guide (Community)" to "Community Leveling Guides."

Reasons for the move

Zygor has erased all mentions of their addon from their site, including the ESO support forums. They've disavowed any involvement with the addon, thereby disowning it and releasing it as Public Domain.

Zygor has never provided support or advice since I took over. I had to learn their addon from scratch by trial-and-error and staring at the code. I documented all my findings on the project's Github page for other people's benefit.

A Zygor support rep posted a reply on the ESO forums stating, "It's possible that alterego decided to stop maintaining his version. If so, that will mean that unless another person picks it up, the ESO version will die." Further, supporting the point that Zygor wants nothing to do with the guide. Thankfully snichols7778 replied, "I'm working on Greymoor version and been in contact with alterego9268." (That's me on the Zygor forums, though I no longer have an active sub.)

Blackwood is going to be nearly three years since Zygor ended their support. Thus, there's no reason to keep calling this the "Zygor Guides" when Leveling Guides is maintained and authored by the ESO Community. I will keep Zygor in the splash screen credits. Without their efforts and expense, the addon would have never existed, and their decision to release their addon as public domain instead of locking it away in their vault means it could stay alive. So for that, I remain ever grateful.

Introducing the new name and logo!

No shade on the addon, it's great. I just feel really REALLY dumb lol.
its part of the prologue intro you have to go in their and talk to Lyris Titanborn and wait for the guy to show up and watch the dialog and then follow him at a distance to the ratways.

i wrote the guy so i know most of western skyrim guide like the back of my hand. i rewrote it twice and i still have to go back and tweak the maps a bit.
Thanks! I just finished all of western Skyrim. Great job with this guide, it was efficient and I felt like I was getting **** done real good ^_^

the addon quest map is a huge help for writting this guide i can map out everything before i ever start writting the guide. And i enjoy helping the community and with addons like this im helping myself as well as the community where my alts can just fly through this stuff.
