BuffTimers2  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.31.1
by: uta.karas [More]
I decided to maintain BuffTimers addon.

What is this exactly?
With this you can make completely stand-alone timer bars for one specific spell each. You just go in settings (see pictures), choose how many bars you want, and then choose for every bar what spell it should show, also the size, colors and optional notifications(sound+text) can be customized.

READ BELOW BEFORE USE!
The name of effect is not always the same as the spell that causes it. (ex: Elemental Drain from Destruction Staff skill line doesn't have the effect of own skill, need to use Minor Magickasteal for track) I included a debug mode that will output all effect changes into chat, activate it in settings, then use the spell you want to track and check how it's actually called.

Wish List
  • Add buff-source setting (self caused buff only / all sources / external source only)
  • Allow to add custom hooks to various events (gain/update/fade) (e.g, start 'Acuity Fatigue' custom timer when 'Mechanical Acuity' fades
  • Add size/font settings to Notification
  • Add color settings individually by abilities to Notification
  • Add display style of timer in icon without bar
  • [implemented on v2.23.1] Add more sounds for notification
  • [implemented on v2.19.3] Add color settings to Icon and TimerText
  • [implemented on v2.19.2] Allow to drag the bars by the icons instead of only being able to move them by clicking the timer bar
  • [implemented on v2.19.1] Allow to use abilityId instead of effectName
  • [implemented on v2.18.0] Reverse bar (bar decreases left-to-right, instead of default right-to-left)

Issue List
  • [fixed on v2.29.0] the timer didn't disappear when Concentrated Force (proc of Asylum Destruction Staff) was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.29.0] the timer didn't disappear when Wrath of Elements (proc of Vateshran Destruction Staff) was disconnected
  • [fixed on v2.29.0] the timer didn't disappear when Force Overflow (proc of Vateshran Restoration Staff) was disconnected
  • [fixed on v2.22.1] the timer didn't disappear when Blastbones exploded
  • [fixed on v2.19.4] No notifications shows up when the buffs consumed
  • [fixed on v2.19.1] the timer didn't disappear when Defensive Posture (and morphs) was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.18.6] the timer didn't disappear when Crystal Fragments proc was consumed

  • [fixed on v2.18.4] the timer didn't disappear when Reflective Scale (and morphs) reflected all 4 projectiles
  • [fixed on v2.18.4] the timer didn't disappear when Defensive Rune was consumed
  • [fixed on v2.18.3] when you cast Boundless Storm or Power Surge before the timer end the addon doesn't track it anymore

Suggested Changes

Suggested changes to:

1) When you change the height of the buff timer the space between the timers stays the same, can we have a way to change the space between buff timers?

2) Please add a setting that will include the name of the buff in the timer bar. Maybe time left first followed by the buff name.

3) Allow for the timers to be sorted based on time left with shortest ones at the top, bottom or not sorted.

4) Allow for more than one buff timer group on the screen. For example I would like one timer group for short buffs and a second timer group for longer buffs. Three groups would work perfectly for how I envision the UI would look.

Edit, suggestion 2, Allow moving the countdown to the icon with the buff name in the timer bar.

Edit 2: Nix suggestion 1 if you will not be implementing suggestion 3. I discovered you can drag each individuality.

I can't figure how to get Simmering Frenzy to show a bar of if it is toggled on or not. Is tracking this not possible, or am I just super bad at configuring this addon? It's probably the latter being as I can't find anyone else wondering how to do this. Please help.

I think it might have something to do with the Simmering Frenzy being a permanent debuff. I tried making sure the spelling is the same as the debug mode reports and I tried using the spellid 134160 and 134166, none of them worked.

I see the other blastbones in constants.lua but not this Stamina based version. Would it be possible to add this version as well? =)
all morphs of blastbones are already allowed fading.
try again and describe more information if you still have any problem, plz.

thx for your request.

I introduced Concentrated Force in new version, but rejected Orbs.

because when I tested about Orbs, eso sent events in the wrong order if cast Orbs while former one exists.
I expected FADE former one, then GAINED new one but ESO said GAINED new one then FADE former one.
So if allow Orbs to fade, addon can't track new Orb which is casted while old one exists.

Audio component?

EDIT: NVM, this is built-in already. I missed the notification options!

I love this addon, I've taken most of my buff tracking out of ActionDurationReminder and S'rendarr thanks to you.

All that those addons do now is audio cues: S'rendarr keeps track of Frags and ADR's popup warning is set to only keep track of Daedric Prey, so when I hear the popup warning sound I know it's Curse that needs to be reapplied and not something else.

But if I have more timers going than that I run out of options, and ADR has no way of tracking timers like potion buffs, 7th Legion, etc.

What I wish BuffTimers did is something like that. For each timer:
  • Have a checkbox to turn on audio cues
  • When that checkbox is active, have a dropdown to select a sound to play when the timer is ending
  • Have a slider to determine when the audio cue will play [x milliseconds before timer ends]
  • Maybe a checkbox to turn off visual cues

I see there is a list of sounds in the Constants.lua, so maybe this isn't a completely new idea?

Simmering Frenzy count up

Is there a way to have it count up for simmering frenzy (134166 is the toggle, 134160 is the per second tick i think) so that you can track how long you have this buff on so you can turn it off after a certain period of time? Thanks for maintaining this add-on.

Red Text on Bar Numbers When Timer Is Almost Up

Hey great mod, glad someone decided to maintain this old gem!

I was wondering -- and maybe there's a way of doing this already and I haven't seen it -- if there's a feature like in the old buff timers that makes the countdown text on the buff timers go red when their timer is almost up. Would be really useful. Cheers hope you see this, in the meantime I'll keep digging maybe I'm missing something.

Add option to hide timers when out of battle

Hello,

I really appreciate this addon. I'd like to suggest you add an option to only show the timers when combat starts and hide them again when it ends.

It is, accurately, problem with vanilla.
ESO has multiple effects in one ability, and sometimes one of them has wrong icon. BuffTimers just shows the icon what ESO said.

ok, there are two ways for avoiding it.

1. use AbilityId for tracking
you can specify exact one effect by using AbilityId instead of "Unstable Wall of Fire". use Debug Mode for clarifying the AbilityId please.

2. use Custom Icon for locking the icon
you can select an icon of Wall of Element at Custom Icon section.
You're AWESOME.
Both solution worked flawlessly.

Thank you so much.
