Welcome to The Questing Guide (TQG)!

ESO's story content keeps expanding, and with each new Chapter comes a new tutorial and beginner experience. It doesn't always do the best job of introducing you to past content however, and that's where TQG comes in. Featuring an easy-to-use interface, simply set up a keybind in CONTROLS, and you're good to go. Press to open, press to close. It's that simple! (Or alternatively use the slash command /tqg to toggle the menu open/closed)

At the moment there are three primary tabs as you can see in the screenshots:
  1. Overview
  2. Classic Stories
  3. DLC and Chapter Stories
  4. Group Content (Dungeons, Trials, and Arenas)
Features
A list of quests compiled from both Zenimax's Zone Guide and LibUespQuestData, you'll find each major storyline in the game listed in chronological order, (defaulting to order of content release), where you can follow along or even check off your list you may have left uncompleted years ago.

Each major category, (Aldmeri Dominion, Fighters Guild, Daedric War, etc.), is preceded by a number indicating its overall place in the story. Within each major category is a subcategory where each zone or DLC is listed according to its place within the major category arc. For example;

(1) Aldermeri Dominion
(1.00) Khenarthi's Roost
(1.10) Auridon

Embedded in the GUI interface is a button that ties directly to the Zone Story function allowing you to instantly zoom to your current place in that zone. That means even if you've finished every major quest in the zone, you'll be directed to Points-of-Interest you have yet to complete, (maybe directly to side-quests in a far future update), or other objectives left in the region.

Now works in German, French, and Russian clients. Should also support Japanese and Simplified Chinese. Quest Names and Zone Descriptions are translated, Completed Quest Descriptions and the Overview page are not all done, yet. Let me know if you'd like to help, even just with translating the Overview page.

Future Ideas
Add a button similar to the one for Zone Stories for accepting Dungeon Quests, where the requisite DLC has been purchased by the user.
Add an "Easter Eggs" type of section for each major arc, detailing hidden stories or recurring characters.

Hi! Sorry for the late reply. It should work 'out of the box'. If you try binding it to a keyboard button do you get the same result? Or only with a controller keybind?

Hello! Thank you! In answer to these:
  1. I should be able to, but I'll have to put it on the backburner for now. If I did so, it would be a Keyboard-only feature and not on Gamepad.
  2. Yep, so normally I pull from LibUespQuestData for the quest descriptions, because the API function I use to get localized data only gets me the info while you're on the quest. I use it as a backup where, in these cases, LibUespQuestData hasn't been updated with those quests yet. However, once you complete the quest I can't access its localized description anymore. As I seem to have many non-English users of TQG, I considered having the Addon create saved variables that would save the localized text per user as they quested and then only use LibUespQuestData as a fallback, but never made a decision to go through with it as I wasn't sure if it would about its usefulness to users. I could add it now, but it wouldn't be retroactive. It would build up as people quested on new and old characters.

Hi!

What a wonderful guide addon! And I have 2 question to ask:

1. Could u add a button in Quest Journal menu? I think it will be more convenient to call TQG menu.

2. About quest's description text localization. I noticed the current ongoing quest's desc texts are translated, I guess it called some api function to get those localization text. But those accomplished quest's desc texts are english, I think you must have called texts from Lib's data. I'm not familiar with eso api so I'm not sure is this possible to just call some api function to get those localization for all those desc text?

Did you turn off all other AddOns and still get the error? (This only requires LibUespQuestData, so ideally you're testing with everything else except The Questing Guide and LibUespQuestData turned off.)

Hello! Life has just been all kinds of busy so I'm a bit behind where I'd like to be on maintaining things. Alas, it is what is is. With the upcoming Chapter (and PTS not being so risky), I might hop on and get things ready for the next Chapter, and take a look at this bug at the same time with Gamepad.

I can't guarantee it'll be this weekend, but sooner rather than later it'll be done!

The practical effect is that when I try to open the Options menu in gamepad mode, I get a blank screen where the options should be and I am locked out of using the gamepad unless I reloadui or logout.

I have no clue what could be causing this, but after going through all my add ons I can confirm that this add on is causing this error.

Just wanted to give you a heads up in hopes the bug can be squashed, because I love using this add on to keep track of my story progress.

Last I knew, (2.99) Heart's Grief (Quest: God of Schemes), requires you to have completed the main Coldharbour storyline (2.00) Coldharbour (Final Quest: "The Final Assault")
