Fancy Action Bar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.7
by: andy.s [More]
This addon shows both weapon bars and tracks durations of your active skills. Its main goal is to be as lightweight as possible and fine tune each tracked ability to show only most useful effects.

Features

1. Highlighted active skills and current weapon bar.
2. Instant swap animation. No more boring flipping icons.
3. Fine tuned abilities like Teleport Strike (show Minor Vulnerability applied by it), Focused Aim (Minor Fracture), Shadow Image (stop countdown after you port to your shade), etc.
4. Gamepad mode support.
5. High performance, which adds some limitations though (read below).

Missing features

1. This addon doesn't track ultimate duration. I'm still not sure if it's needed, and also showing both ultimates won't look neat due to their special button visuals, especially in gamepad mode.
2. The addon doesn't track your enemies debuffs, so if some abilities are purged or dodged, they will keep ticking on your bar. I'm not planning to change this behavior now, because I want to keep the addon as lightweight as possible.

If you want to move action bar, then I recommend using Azurah. There is no point to add this feature to the addon, because it will obviously conflict with other addons which allow to move UI elements. Note: Azurah re-enables weapon swap icon by default, so you will need to hide it in it's settings (Action Bar tab).
2.7
- Fixed UI error brought by High Isle update.
- Power of the Light shows 6 seconds duration by default now. It can be disabled in the addon settings (which will make it 9 seconds again).

2.6
- Fixed fake Crystal Fragments proc (internal game bug?), which could start and end at the same moment, but the timer kept ticking.
- Ability Bar Timers are re-enabled automatically now. The addon needs this setting to track some abilities since Waking Flame API update.

2.5
- Some fixes for Waking Flame. IMPORTANT: Due to ZOS changes to API once again the addon now requires Ability Bar Timers to be enabled, otherwise the required in-game event doesn't happen and some timers don't work. I did my best to get rid of default timers and stuff, but feel free to report any issues you find.

2.4
- Fixed a variety of skills not tracked properly by ZOS. Note: the addon uses ESO API functions to get abilities' remaining durations once they are cast. If something is not tracked properly, then it's not a bug in FAB, but I can adjust it manually until it's fixed by the game devs.

2.3
- Fixed Ring of Preservation duration.

2.2
- Removed most of the custom settings for skills from config.lua and replaced them with the new API functions, although there are still enough skills which are not tracked properly with the new ability bar timers and need to be handled manually.
- Due to the changes above, all skills granting the same effect are tracked separately now, e.g. taunts, major resolve, evasion, etc.
- Seething Fury countdown now stops after using Molten Whip (which removes this effect from player).

2.1
- Fixed UI error on log in triggered by a causeless in-game weapon swap event before player activation.

2.0
- Timers are back on PTS!
- Expanded addon settings to fine-tune numbers and buttons to your liking (opacity, desaturation, colors, decimal numbers).
- It's now possible to always keep the active bar above the back bar when you swap weapons (the very first option in the addon settings).
- Bug fixes and ability updates.

1.1.3
- Fixed Subterranean Assault duration.
- Added Minor Berserk tracking to Camouflaged Hunter.

1.1.2
- Updated some abilities ids to work with Markarth DLC (sorry, don't have time for more features atm).

1.1.1
- Added Burning Talons DoT timer.

1.1.0
- Added tracking of different stacks, like Grim Focus, Bound Armaments, etc. Note: Stone Giant stacks are only tracked in Harrowstorm, because the skill was changed there.
- Fixed buggy icons when using a special action bar like Werewolf, Frostvault skeever bar, etc.
- Fixed some durations.
- Fixed an empty action bar after /reloadui.
- Switching between Gamepad and Keyboard modes doesn't reload UI anymore (but it's possible that under some circumstances action bars won't be aligned perfectly).

bug: timer for Hurricane (stamina sorcerer skill) starts at 15 and counts down to 5, then jumps to 8 and continues to count down for 3 seconds after skill has expired.

I can confirm that this does indeed NOT work on my Khajit Nightblade (highly frustrating).
Have tested this with several characters and even on another account.
Also the morphed version of 'Expert Hunter', '(Camouflaged Hunter)' doesn't have a cooldown timer for the buff provided either. (The non-morphed version does)

The Camouflaged Hunter issue does not relate to race.

Any ETA on a fix for this, please? :-)

PTS / Waking Flame

Great work, hoping it gets updated for upcoming patch. Currently have to toggle Settings > Combat > Ability Bar Timers and Back Row for it to show timers, but then they overlap with the game defaults. If you leave those disabled, the addon does not display timers.

Thanks!

I like that there is an option to have the bars swap places, but i just cant' get used to the active bar being on top. It feels backwards. Is it possible to make the active bar be on the bottom and you're not active bar be on top? I would use this action bar over ADR if it had that option 100%

Fantastic addon. Great work. I'd like to request a feature:

Can we be given a whitelist and/or blacklist option to disable/enable the timer for certain abilities? Some abilities apply debuffs or have some other effect I don't care about, and I'd just prefer to not have the clutter of another timer. In other situations I have some abilities with slightly different timers that I prefer to just bundle anyway as I use them, so I'd prefer to just disable the timer on the shorter of them for example.

You can fine tune abilities in config.lua, but be careful when updating the addon, because this file will be replaced again.

So for example, if I'm only interested in the Major Sorcery buff from Degeneration, which lasts 24 seconds, in opposite to the DoT, which lasts 12 seconds, I could change that in config.lua?

EDIT: Yes, that works very well. Line 138:
Code:
[40457] = {126374, 24}, -- degeneration

Yes, you need to change this line:
Lua Code:
  1. [40457] = {126374}, -- degeneration

and put Major Sorcery id instead of 126374 (can get it via debug mode in the addon I think or CMX). But you are the only one who asked for this, I remember all other people asking to remove sorcery tracking

Thank you very much, the ID is 61687, I now changed line 138 to:
Code:
[40457] = {61687}, -- degeneration

Strange, I always thought that it's very important to track the uptime of this buff.

EDIT: I changed it to 23 seconds, because the buff was always 1 second faster than the bar duration tracker:
Code:
[40457] = {61687, 23}, -- degeneration
Anyway, thank you very much for this brilliant addon!

Is there any chance that this could be updated to include a timer for blastbones? Unless I'm missing something, when I just add it manually the timer continues even after blastbones has exploded which isn't super useful

Stack count for Carve [TH]

Could you please add a stack count for the new carve bleed stack. And if at all possible if you ever are able to get around to it could you add a timer for potions not a crazy need but would be useful. Or an option to turn off timers would be nice to so we could use different overlay for timers.

yh. this would be super useful

not that i'm used to code addons, but it might be as easy as adding

Code:
FancyActionBar.stackMap = {
  ...
  [38747] = 38745,
  ...
}

Removing number from buttons?

I've been trying to remove the numbers themselves from the icons. They're far too distracting for me. Is it possible to remove them, and if so, how?

Edit: I think I've figured it out, but I can't find the 'Surge' and 'mage's fury' spells and their morphs for the Sorcerer class in the list.

I just want none of the numbers, okay?

is that some of the skills timer cannot be edited?
for example,
i want to track the healing timer of the dark cloak and add these to the config.lua then reloadui, but the timer still shows the minor protection buff (12s)
[25377] = 5, -- dark cloak
also for the race against time, i only use this skill for my tank and want to track the Major Expedition. it won't change even if i edited like this:
[103710] = {61736}, -- race against time
or [103710] = {61736, 4},
or [103710] = 4,
