Journal Quest Log  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 1.3.6
by: Enodoc [More]
Have you ever wanted to know what quests you've completed, and which ones you have yet to complete? Well now you can!

Features
  • List of all quests by Zone/Category
  • List quests alphabetically or by Status
  • Quests that are greyed out require a DLC that you do not own
  • Quests that are possible to miss are shown in yellow
  • Repeatable Quests are shown in blue
  • Missed Quests are shown in red
Navigate to the new Quest Log tab in the Journal. All quests are listed, sorted by category/zone, including any quests completed before the add-on was installed.

Library Dependencies
You must download these libraries for the add-on to work!
In Development
  • Mouse-over pop-ups for extended information about a particular quest. Comments please if there's anything you'd like to see here!

Known Issues
  • Unknown Quest: The game is registering a quest you have completed, but the game has no data for this quest. A quest with zo_questId 1230 is a common Unknown Quest which appears on older characters.
  • Some quests may show up under the wrong zone header. This is most likely a bug with the game data for that quest, rather than the add-on.
  • Some quests are showing as Group Quests when they are not. It is currently unclear whether this is an issue with the data logger or with the quest data itself.
  • Extended categories for Quest Log and Active Quests currently disabled.

Important Notes
  • The list of Not Completed quests requires the LibUespQuestData library, since the API does not provide this information directly. Please also download uespLog to help keep the database up-to-date. Due to the number of quests, this feature is not fully tested - please leave any suggestions or issues in the Comments tab.
  • Please note this add-on is not currently compatible with the Gamepad UI. If anyone would like to make a patch, please go ahead!

Many thanks to eventHandler for Version 0.1.0, whose code was instrumental in getting me over the issue I was having with category filters!

Many thanks to Alianym for the basis of the code which now enables the Quest Log to open at your current zone.

Please leave any feedback in the comments, and let me know of any more features you'd like to see.

Localization
French localization by XXXspartiateXXX
Japanese localization prior to Version 1.3 by Calamath

Version 1.3 developed by:
@Enodoc, Savant of the United Explorers of Scholarly Pursuits (UESP)
UESP: The Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages - A collaborative source for all knowledge on the Elder Scrolls series since 1995. Find us at www.uesp.net

  • Added Settings menu:

    • Hide Missed Quests
  • Added icons for each state
  • Some Cyrodiil quests will now not be listed if they are not available for your Alliance
  • Quest Log now refreshes on Quest Completion, not every time you open it
  • Updated API version to 100031 (Greymoor)

Version 1.1.2
  • New Active Quests categories added for Alliance War (split from Cyrodiil), and Dungeons and Trials (split from Zones)
  • Additional categories also added to the Quest Log for Alliance War, Dungeons and Trials
  • Missed Quests now show in red
  • Added Japanese localisation (thanks to Calamath)
  • Updated API version to 100030 (Harrowstorm)

Version 1.1.1
  • Repeatable Quests now show in blue
  • Quest Log now reopens on the last tab you had open
    • Known Issue: The drop-down doesn't show properly when reopening to a Not Completed category.

Version 1.1.0
  • Added list of Not Completed quests (beta feature)
    • This requires the new LibUespQuestData library as a Dependency

Primarily because alphabetical order is something a sorting function can do. Any other order would have to be coded manually, and as soon as you start coding any order manually, different people will have differing opinions about which order is "correct".

The only things that really even have an order are Zone Quests, and that order is trackable in the Zone Guide, while Guild quests and Companion quests can only be done in the right order anyway. Although when I get back into ESO in the future I might consider expanding the "Zone Guide" concept into a Story Guide, so that a chronological order (for things that have one) is available.

The ones bothering me:
- Bounties of Blackwood (since we're now having Blackwood event and the quest didn't return, I think it's safe to assume it's gone forever)
- Sand, Snow, and Blood (I think it was Wrothgar + Craglorn + IC one)

Yeah sure, I'll do a run-through of the whole Holiday Events category at some point. I was assuming that those quests would come back in the future.

Theoretically it should be doable, but this would require storing the data locally, which I'm trying to avoid as much as possible.

Could be either - some quests are missed because of jumping a step in a sequence, others are missed because they are mutually exclusive with ones you did complete. If you let me know which ones you're referring to, I can be more specific!

I don't think I have a label for Incomplete vs Started... the labels are Unavailable, Normal, Missable, Missed, Completed, and Repeatable.

Ok, so I found another one in Reaper's March. So you're saying it's a ZOS issue? I ask because this is keeping me from getting the "check mark" for each zone which I thought was part of your mod. Also the extra quests are for group dungeons and every area has a group dungeon, but the quests for these aren't listed in every area in your mod.
Yeah my add-on does the checkmarks for each category, but ZOS decides which category each quest is in.

ZOS are inconsistent when it comes to putting Group Dungeon quests in the main zone category or somewhere else.

Do you own the Dragon Bones DLC? I might need to add in another condition to check for that DLC for that quest.
Yes, I have all the DLC's. I've never been to Fang Lair with any of my toons, and they have the Covenant Hero achievement.

ETA: Oh, are you doing ALL the quests? Not just the normal ones? Then having that quest listed makes sense!

ETA again: Just finished Auridon. Every quest is done and I got the check mark. No Banished Cells quest listed. Now I'm confused again LOL

Note that npc are no longer present and therefore quests impossible to start.
Perhaps an option to (irreversibly) change the status of a quest to "finished" could be considered? With a warning of course.

Thanks for your awesome work on this mod, it's very helpful!
They might come up as missed once you've completed Long Lost Lore (the first proper Mages Guild quest). Let me know if they don't!
