Crafting Material Level Display Updated  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)
Version: 2.20
by: Ayantir, Baertram
This addon displays the level of crafting materials in the item tooltips (as viewed from your bag or bank) and inventory lists.

This addon is an Updated version of Crafting Material Level Display, I will only work on updates is asked in comments, for now.

What does it do?

This addon provides additional information about crafting materials in two places: in the item tooltips, and directly in the inventory lists.

The tooltips contain valuable information about Alchemy and Enchanting materials. Provisioning is not supported anymore as there are many other addons helping with this crafting type.

The inventory lists (bags, bank, loot, and enchanting crafting table) contain simple level ranges for Blacksmithing, Clothing, Enchanting, Woodworking and JewelryCrafting materials, so that you don't have to even look at the tooltip to make a decision about whether to sell low-level materials.

Each piece of functionality can be disabled in the settings menu, if it conflicts with other addons or causes an error. I'd prefer to fix any problems, though, so please let me know if you disable something due to an error.

What is the purpose of this addon?

This addon provides additional information about Alchemy and Enchanting materials.

I created this addon to ease the identification of crafting materials that are no longer worthwhile for skill increases. So, really, I just want the game to tell me what skill level the various crafting materials are at.
Once you get to a level of crafting, lower materials will not increase your XP that good anymore. Or, perhaps you don't care about Jewelry-specific enchanting runes, regardless of their level. Since bag and bank space are at a premium, I wanted an easier way to identify those crafting materials for either destruction, selling to a vendor, or passing to an alt or even a friend. The information is readily available at the Tamriel Journal website, but having it integrated into the tooltips feels easier.

Note: This addon used to provide level information about Blacksmithing, Clothing, and Woodworking materials, but in ESO v1.2.3, that information was put into the built-in game tooltips, so in v1.1.0 of this addon I removed that data.

Language Support

The addon should theoretically work with non-English game clients, but it has not been tested. It is using item IDs for comparison with the item/tooltip list that I've bundled (pulling data from both Tamriel Journal and ESOHead), so the tooltip text should be displayed as expected; but note that the tooltip text is not translated.

Where should I file bugs?

If you see text such as "Unknown crafting item ID ##### - please leave a comment here on ESOUI

Thank you, but I still have an issue

I had some problems with the other version, and despite playing with the code a bit never got it to load after the patch.

When I pull yours in I get an error. It is odd because the error comes from LibStub, with a Nil issue, but that is caused by a call from the 2.0 Panel class where it is trying to load the LibAddonMenu-2.0: local LAM = LibStub("LibAddonMenu-2.0")

Here is the error from the log:

2014-09-19T21:42:28.153-06:00 |cff0000Lua Error: user:/AddOns/CraftingMaterialLevelDisplay/lib/LibStub/LibStub.lua:27: function expected instead of nil
stack traceback:
user:/AddOns/CraftingMaterialLevelDisplay/lib/LibStub/LibStub.lua:27: in function 'LibStub:GetLibrary'
user:/AddOns/CraftingMaterialLevelDisplay/lib/LibAddonMenu-2.0/controls/panel.lua:15: in function '(main chunk)'|r

If you have any ideas on what my major malfunction might be let me know.

Thanks,
Randy

This error message is from the old version of LibStub when library is trying to show message "Cannot find a library instance of LibAddonMenu-2.0".
The most probably you have an issue with too long file path, more information here:
http://www.esoui.com/forums/showthre...2181#post12181
http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com...mment/1275009/

A quick fix could be installation of LibAddonMenu as a stand-alone addon.

Hello,

You can also rename your "CraftingMaterialLevelDisplay" folder in Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns to a shorter one. ESO devs will solve the bug in 2days too.

Sorry for disturbance

Re: Re: Thank you, but I still have an issue

Thank you.

I managed to rename the LibAddonMenu-2.0 folder and removed the last 3 characters and fixed it in the .txt file in the root. That seemed to fix it.

I tried that by removing the LevelDisplay from the name. When I just changed the folder it didn't seem to load at all, then I changed the file name as well and I got other errors. I probably just needed to dig through the code to find all the places it was referenced, but I went with renaming the library instead.

Thanks though.

Conflict with two other addons ?

-
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Problem is solved!!! by deleting Saved Variables of all 3 Addons simultaneously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-

Hi I have narrowed down a possible Addon Conflict between
the following 3 Addons:

- FCO Item Saver
- CraftingMaterial LevelDisplay Updated
- InventoryGrid View

After some tests I got the following result.

When I have all my 42 Addons activated the gameclient crashes when I login.
But only with 4 of my 8 chars !
(The other 4 chars login and play fine even with all 42 addons activated !)

I have narrowed down the conflict for these 4 charactars to the following situation:

When I deactivate FCO Itemsaver, leaving all the other Addons activated,
then the game works fine for these characters.

When I deactivate CraftingMaterialLevelDisplay leaving all the other Addons activated
then the game works fine for these characters.

When I deactivate InventoryGridView leaving all the other Addons activated
then the game works fine for these characters.

When I am logged in on a character with only one of these addons deactivated
and then activate the last one while logged in and
doing a UI reload everything works fine even for these "difficult" characters.
This is true for all of the 3 addons !

And if I have only these 3 addons installed and nothing else,
the game crashes for these same characters too.

As I have to assume that only a combination of these 3 addons produces the conflict,
I post it at all 3 places. Maybe somebody has an idea.

I tried to figure out how the 4 working chars are discerned from the nonworking ones
by trying to crash a working char in changing the addonsettings but I didn't find anything by now.
