I have both installed but of course only run one at a time, I can't decide yet which I will stick with in the long run.
If you run both and have all TTMP map filters set to OFF, you won't see any TTMP icons but you're still gathering node/asset info while you're interacting with assets.
And i'm certainly open to adding more featu...

I used Minion to install the basic one. Then I followed the read me and downloaded the merge zip file. I placed that into the directory it said. Searched for the replacement text, couldn't find it. Figured that the merge zip file already had that done. Loaded the game and error.

I found the problem and will have a hotfix for it uploaded within the hour (need to get some dinner first).

I have an AddOn called TTMP (The Tamriel Mapping Project) that frequently writes color coded info to the chat window.
The Strings are color coded using ZO_ColorDef objects.
TTMP has a color coded startup message that is printed to the chat window in the OnPlayerActivated() callback.

I can confirm that the "pChat" AddOn is causing the crash when used in conjunction with TTMP.
Thanks to @zasy99 for doing some debugging on that one!
Until i have found the problem (and hopefully be able to fix it on my end) please disable "pChat" if you want to use TTMP 1.7.

I can confirm this causes a hang and crash to desktop.
Have tried about 100 addons, currently using approx. 50 of them.
I turned off all map and pin related addons and Dustman (because it is mentioned below) and it still hangs/crashes.
Question: Is this in any way a MiniMap addon or just an info / pin marker addon?
TTMP does not...

When the game hangs, i find a file in Logs folder - interface.log which contains an UI error from LibAnnyoingUpdateNotificationInGame.lua.
Destinations and Dustman use this library. The file has time stamp exactly when the game hangs.
I'll get those two AddOns and start looking into it right away.

After updating to 1.7.0 with the merge, the game will not load while TTMP is enabled. No error, just during character load it goes to not responding and stays there until it finally crashes to the desktop. :(
I reverted to 1.6.0 and everything works fine. i've tried with and without merge. Also tried a completely fresh install with...

I think he means that it's a bit fiddly to open up your provided asset file, which contains all of the discovered map pins, and enter our account name in the lua file in order for them to show up for us in game. You probably know more about the necessity of this than I do, though.

I started working on TTMP during beta.
The idea being to eventually map *all* resources across Tamriel (hence the name) in every zone and dungeon.
