hi any reason as to why minimap wont show when enabled? mainly just want it for chest locations for trails and dungeons but the minimap wont even show

hi any idea why chest icons dont show on the mini map? when in trialsdungeons they dont show before to show on the map so I know their location or they dont show if it needs the first person to locate/open it first.
I'v checked settings but no luck
