The only thing that I can ask right now about the Cloudrest issue in gamepad mode, is what kind of announcements do you use? There is "custom" option, and "big"/"small" option as well. Best if you could try both "custom" and "big" (for instance), and see if announcements are dead in both cases.

I'd like to request the option to toggle between Character and Player names for the informational texts. In fact this option should exists for a long time already... Check the "General -> Use Display Name" setting and see if that helps!
