I am on Windows 7 x64.
Both scripts returned false.
I thought the hard reset worked for a while and then I changed the outdated data settings from the 1.0.0 default to 3.1.0, and it went back to the state we are complaining about (and interestingly, when I change it back to 1.0.0 after that, the pins don't reappear).

It's the "AW" that confused me. Just change it to "account-wide" :P (and to make it clear, I would make it "Display (account-wide settings only)" to avoid confusing with the other options that have a toggle.

I get new pins as I discover them, but the files I downloaded from the site don't work anymore.
edit:
I got it! For some reason the "display only nearby pins" was enabled.
edit2: Something is still wrong. I can hardly see any pins in most zones.
