Can't install new Minion on iMac

I was having the same issues many people were reporting about Minion not being able to connect to the Internet. I'm running MacOS Monterey 12.7.4. I went through the troubleshooting steps in this forum, uninstalled Minion, downloaded what I assumed was the new version, and when I try to run it I get a popup that says "'Minion' is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." Moving it to the trash and downloading again only has the same result. Does anyone know if a new Mac version has been released? Or have any suggestions about how I can try to fix this?

It's a security check by macOS and because Minion is not a known executable file my Apple's data it protects you from starting it.
But as it os not malicious you can still make it start. You need to allow the file in your Mac's security center (or whatever that is called on MacOS).

If you search for the error message without the Minion connection you will find help e.g. like this link "How to Fix "App Is Damaged and Can't Be Opened" on Mac":
https://www.howtogeek.com/803598/app...ant-be-opened/

The link also exlpains below the headline "Why Does This Happen?" why you see that messages on MacOS

You are welcome.
I've also added that to the Minion troubleshooting guide -> MacOS

There already existed an information how you can circumvent that error too:
Quote:

After you install minion from the dmg the first time loading you have to right click the icon in applications and choose open, then you should be able to open it.
After that you can just click the icon like normal.

Hey guys, I tried both fixes and I still get the "app is damaged" prompt, is there anything else I can do?*

UPDATE: I found a fix for me it was this tutorial.
