[SOLVED] TESO launcher hangs at "Loading..."
Hey guys,
I had to reinstall my PC and i'm on Win10 64bit currently. As I tried to start the TESO launcher (admin or not) it will always hang and show the background image + a text "Loading..." ("Lade..." -> German client). I tried several things that I found in the forums and the internet, like install/uninstall sata drivers, intel chipset drivers, microsoft c++ 2010 redist from the TESO_install.exe setup that we can download at the TESO websites (login -> downlaod game), disable firewalls, disable antivirus, etc. Nothing seems to help :( The launcher's log (host.developer.log) file is showing me the following error message: 03/18/2016 12:10:55 Unable to load library (C:\Games\TESO\Launcher\MinSpecDetectionInterop.dll) (193) Someone wrote in a forum that it could have to do with the SATA drivers and that the harddrives are not recognized correctly. I updated all drivers and checked the system information, dxdiag, everyhting... I appreciate every addiitonal tip how I could solve this error. Currently I'm not able to play as I cannot update the game :-( |
Solved (finally)
Damn f**cking MS VC++ 2010 files were incorrect on my system. And the installation tool of TESO did not overwrite them properly. In the c:\Windows\syswow64 folder there was 1 file "msvcr100.dll" which was an old one. I don't know how it got there but it was not replaced properly. So I searched all files of the MS VC++ 2010 package manually and removed them, and reinstalled the package from the INSTALL_ESO.exe file agai. Afterwards the launcher started properly again. |
This is a known issue and there is a patcher in testing that fixes it.

Oh, good to know.
For the moment I suggest: Update your support forum thread about this issue and tell the people to delete the old MS VC++ dll files manually, at least this one file, so your description about "Use the ESO_INSTALL.exe file to install the VC++ dlls again" will work properly :D |
Thanks!
I had the same problem for weeks now, and this finally fixed it! Thanks alot!
- Update: it worked once now it doesnt work anymore.. Could you help me finding the files of the MS VC++ 2010 package manually? - Update 2: nvm.. installing in another directory solved it. |
