Wishlist and Bugreports
I was wondering if we could maybe have a dedicated bug report forum for authors to report issues they have encountered AND investigated. I know there is the /bug tool and also the section on the official forums, but I feel like UI related issues are better handled here where other authors can chime in. It is also somewhat rewarding for an author who puts in some time and effort to look for the cause of the bug to get a response acknowledging the issue vs. just throwing it on a pile via /bug. ;)
Another thing I want to ask about is the wish list. It is getting filled with more and more threads, but there is no indication if something has been implemented or declined. Maybe we can have some moderator who cleans up from time to time and closes/tags threads as implemented, outdated, denied or something and maybe even even moves them into a new archive subforum? |
When I /bug, I simply write "Hey, I'm addon author", they maybe simply don't care, but it seems to work ^^

I think it might be helpful. It gives more visibility to bugs that are likely well investigated. Generally, if I receive a bug report on my addons from an addon author, it's likely to have more information than one from someone else, who will simply say 'this isn't working, help!' It seems that some wishlist posts are already bug reports anyway, so it might be helpful to separate wish list requests from bug reports.
Changing the wishlist up might be helpful. Many of them are clear on what happened if you open it up, so it might not be worth it to have someone go through them all. |
I like that idea very much for the reasons already posted here.

Good idea and there looks to be good support for this. The forum has been created located just after the wish list forum http://www.esoui.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=187
I moved a few threads, if some more need to be moved over just ping me. Does anyone want to volunteer to be moderator on these 2 forums to help keep them clean? |
Thanks Dolby! :)
