RIP Addons

Literally gutted the API. ZoS way overshot with the gutting of the API. Looks like i'm canceling pre-order and going to wildstar because of a lousy dev team.

Can you go into more detail for those of us who aren't graced with PTS access?

"Gutted" seems like an overdramatic term, and your reaction to the changes seem even more overdramatic.

Unless I'm missing something, combat mods are really the only things that have been affected badly by these changes. I personally think this is a good thing, because it means that players with the combat mods installed won't have an information advantage over those players that do not.

If ZO has decided that this is the direction that they want to go for combat in this game, then good on them. It means that they have something VERY specific in mind when it comes to the combat in this game and I, for one, respect them immensely for enforcing it as completely as this.

Rant aside, let's have a moment of silence for all of the combat mods that lost their lives in this update. I hope their authors don't regret the time spent developing them.

If we can finally discuss and not fight about addons, may be we could ask ZOS to review their position on some part of the API they restricted.

I planned to use some addons more for aesthetics, and one for help in my own combat, but i can understand that this whole complete change is a bit drastic for some of you.

I think that the way we were all fighting about addons forced them to take a hard decision, may be next time we will behave differently.
