Anyone interested in making something similar to Guild Market Exporter?

Guild Market Exporter addon and it's associated online Item and Pricing Database at ESOmerchants.com were an AWESOME combo of market tools to have, but support seems to have been dropped, and with the addon no longer working, the online database has gradually purged itself of data (only last 10 days of data tracked).

Is there anyone interested in developing something similar? I've also been trying to contact Zalrenic to see if he would be willing to hand the mod off to another addon author but no luck reaching him so far...

I think there are two questions to answer:
Is it still nessesary?
The Guild store search has gotten a tremendous boost with 1.2.3. Not as far as we would have liked it, but still quite a usefull one.
In addition to almost everything of Batman now being part of the default UI, addons can now search the Trading house DB a lot faster/reliable due to exposed Cooldown values for searches/a cooldown expired event. So addons can adopt automatically to the load of the Guild Store Server/cooldown it decides on.
GSSE is currently able to gather all the data of your trading guilds in acceptable times and it will only improove as the need for it drops and the servers improove (and thus the Cooldown goes down). And it gives you overview over the stores everywhere in the world (due to saving the bulk of data).

Is it still feasible?
The core issue here is extracting the data from the Stores. This is one of the things you do not want to do twice.
So if to do anything in that direction (extract data from stores and put it on website), it is propably best to use the existing saved vars of GSSE for that.
While it is faster now then it was after Craglorn (when the cooldown started), with an active trading guild (20+ pages) it can still be quite some data. Not the kind of stuff you want to retreive twice.

The main advantage for GME and ESOMerchants.com wasn't an improved search/store interface but that you could see pricing data across guilds. For example, if you're wanting to sell or buy something you can lookup what the going prices are.

For updating it/taking it over, the biggest thing comes to the (currently unresolved) issue of how best to get item names. If can get that fixed up, can probably just use same site (as long as author keeps it up). If not, would have to try to get code for site and put up elsewhere or re-do from scratch.

There are some advantages to the way Guild Market Exporter works (as well as disadvantages). As Sasky pointed out, the main advantage is having item pricing data across more than 5 guilds, at last count the ESOmerchants site had the combined listings, sales, and pricing data from over 280 guild stores, (more data points equate to more accurate data).

Another benefit was having ESOmerchants open on a second monitor which made it easy to field price checks for people in chat quickly and accurately.

Also, there is (or was before the site purged it's data due to GME no longer working) much more data available on the website vs a small UI window. ESOmerchants charts the data as well as showing tables, and with Item Level /Lowest Price Seen / Highest Price Seen / Mean / Median / Mode / Units Seen / Last Seen / Volume Sold there is not much left to the imagination. The site also tracks current listings in addition to completed transactions.

I was using GME / ESOmerchants.com in combination with other tools. Luminary Trade House (now defunct), GSSE and Shopkeeper really are a powerful combination but I would easily choose the GME / ESOmerchants option if I could only pick one.

I have no idea what would be involved in patching up the exporter to work again (and especially so since the work belongs to Zalrenic) but it would sure be nice to be able to somehow start pushing data back onto the ESOmerchants website again.

Aside from all of that, I just hope Zal is ok, it seems odd after him putting SO much work into the addon and site to just disappear without any word, hope eall is well...

GSSE can access it's data anywhere in world. Just assign a hotkey to showing the window.
It even gives you min/max/average prices as tooltips for items in your inventory.

While it only covers the guilds you are part of, this is still quite a usefull amount of data.

Somehow GSSE has been able to do that the whole time. Indeed search by name is the only search function it has for the retreived data and it did not stopped working with 1.2.3
Maybe there is some way to get the names of items still inside the Guild Store?

Most issues are about getting the name without it being in the Guildstore, Inventory, Bank, Guildbank or similar place (especially getting it just from the Item Link that is stored in the Guild Store log).
