Request; Movable Quest Tracker

Hello,

I would like to request these modifications to the Quest tracker;
- Moveable.
- Automatically switch active quest to nearest, example;
Enter area where i have a quest, Quest tracker switches automatically to quest in area (support for instances where there are multiple quest in same area?)
- Display only Quest name and Hints.
- Fade when not nearby area with an accepted quest

I looked around and didnt see another request like this, If an addon already exists with some of these functions please let me know.

I'm not sure if it is exacly what you want, but I think that most of requested features is covered by this addon:

I'd settle for a movable quest tracker, it doesn't have to have all the fancy features.

This will allow you to move your quest tracker and pretty much anything else from the base UI. I use it for the Synergy window myself, with a few other small passives that are nice (target frame at top colored based on target).

I disabled pretty much everything I could and just use the stuff that is passively on at all times.

Then dont use them?


Everything in Wykkyds is either toggle on/off and everything I put into the extension is toggle on/off.

I know. ESO addon authors seem to generally be rather good about having toggle-able functionality, so kudos on that.

Here's my issue though (and I mean no disrespect to anyone or anything): I just want to be able to move the quest tracker. I don't want any of the other features. I don't even want to have to turn them off.

It's perhaps silly and irrational of me, but it's also why I wrote my own auto-sheath addon even though at least two other addons already included that functionality. Because they did a lot of other things I didn't need and didn't want.

It's probably just a difference in philosophy; some people like all-in-one multi-tools, some like one tool for one job.

Neither is inherently better or worse than the other, it's personal preference; and I prefer tools that do just one thing over tools that do many things.

Nope +) We've been talking as of late about the need for modularity and the pros and cons of swiss-army knife tools versus single, focused "functions".


It totally get what you are saying.


The "problem" is, where is the cut off? Lets say I make a mod for moving the quest window. Then someone asks for one to move the compass, and another for the levelling bar.


Do they all go into a single addon? But you dont want all that extra junk, just the quest one. Ok, then are they all seperate? But that means someone has to load and use 3x the addons that can be done in one.


There is no "good" answer.


Long story longer, it shouldn't be a difficult task to modify the original QT to be "moveable".

They are movable you drag them. Make sure they are not locked.

Both of the above are fully movable unless you mean moving quests a different way instead of vertical.
