What to do, in ESO?

With this patch, it's easier to collect sets, and that's a good thing if you ask me.

However, food for thought: most of the things I've done, in all that time, in ESO, was go into dungeons for that daily "maybe I'll get xyz this time", lottery. The RNG.

There are many dungeons, trials and raids that tell a story even, yes, but we've seen most of these literally hundreds of times now. What else is there? Cyrodiil and the Imperial City for PVP. Even there you collect sets, but usually you just go in there to play. Some may go there to get rich or collect, but most will be there just for fun.

But what do you do now, when you're done questing, and you just don't have any sets to collect, because you either don't need them and you aren't aiming for the 100%? What if the game for you is mostly about the adventure? Because the grind is virtually over now. You still do grind a little bit for the sets, but there is a definite end in sight, even when you start, at the very beginning.

I love doing the quests, and I'm glad there's more with every DLC. But to be honest, I've always hoped for a mega dungeon that goes on and on, not endlessly, but something that you can go into, just to enjoy yourself and farm resources at ever increasing difficulty the further you progress. Make it a gambit, make me lose everything if I die once, if you like. But that would be something I'd play a lot now, too.

So. What's my play style? If you play like me, you collect those most important meta sets. You don't fancy experimenting with builds in general. You're not interested in achievements. You try to be reasonable or above average when it comes to PVE dps. You have a mild interest in PVP, but you're not competitive. You've been in all these dungeons hundreds of times, and epic amount of hours. You're done collecting. You've finished the last quest.

Do you move on from ESO?

I agree this was a good change this patch, I think there is enough stuff to do so you don't need the super long gear grind to keep you busy.
Playing different classes in different roles makes the game much more interesting for long term. I couldn't just always play the same role or class, would get boring quickly.
Some more ideas:
Housing
Trading
Blueprints
AddOn development

Are you a bot Jammet? Don't get me wrong, but this text somehow reads like an AI created one

I'd have also replied Housing (if you like it), Addon development (if you are interetsed and able to, help is always wanted and needed), PvP, BGs, upcoming DLCs, quests, socialising in guilds, trading, simply chat in zone, or take a break from ESO to "reboot", if you have done all that, and come back later to start with a new char. Maybe change the server from NA->EU (EU->NA) and start a new char there to find new interesting ppl and guilds.

What makes me feel like a bot to you? These are not cold metal joints, these are soft Khajiit paws .

But yeah, I see there are other things to do. It just hit me a few days though. Most, if not almost all I have been doing for two years straight, was collecting sets. Now I also enjoy Housing quite a bunch, buut ... not to the point that I want to own every house and give each a theme. I've got four homes that I consider fairly beautiful and that I'm even quite proud of, even if they're rather mundanely looking -- not at all transformed like some of the really talented furnishing magicians can do.

I guess I do socialise as well, though that was usually embedded into the contexts of housing or set collecting. Sometimes trial running, that sort of thing. I need to give this all some more thought. It's true, I can't warm up to everything you can do, so I'm sort of running out of things to do.

Sorry, it just was so nice to read that it felt like an AI bot has collected ESO relevant info and created a package to test some human (maybe non-paw) users
Beside that the ESO addon forum was not the first ressource I would have asked these questions AND as this was your first post I wanted to be sure there hasn't slipped in another of these automatic posting machines. Forgive my negative attitude (/bow).

Hakuna Matata :3. I'm just glad I wasn't entirely off-topical, and I'm grateful for the kind replies. It may be a bit weird that I picked this very spot, but, I'm glad I did.

:3 So yes, warm sands.
